Large Japanese Sculptural Bronze Bird

Incredible sculptural bronze bird from Meiji Period Japan, late 19th century. Bronze body with vented lid. Traditionally used for burning incense. Cream, green, and gold paint shows wonderful patina. Perfect as a decorative object perfect for a mantle, bookshelf, or desk. Bronze shows lovely signs of age.
